Archival Archetyping Exhibition in IAMAS 2021

私たちが展覧会と聞いて想像するものの多くは、作品を鑑賞するために、自宅から外へ出て、歩いてもしくは電車や車に乗って、特定の物理空間へ移動することを求めていました。現在、この従来の方法と並行して、いくつかの美術館やギャラリーが、「オンライン展覧会」（それぞれの微妙な差異によって様々な呼称があります）を提供しています。これらオンラインコンテンツの充実化によって、改めて問われていたのは、作品を経験することの本質がどこにあるのか、ということでした。現状への対応を求められた美術館が、管理が容易で予算的に採算のとれた「業界標準」のオンラインプラットフォームに落ち着くことで、ニューノーマルな状況に膠着してしまう前に、DIYでラディカルな実験が必要です。

「Archival Archetyping Exhibition in IAMAS 2021」の試みは、一見分断しているように思われる物理空間と情報空間を、作品や展覧会、展覧会を通じたコミュニケーションによって重層的に組み換えます。展覧会と作品の関係を並列的に考えることができる今だからこそ、作品は作品以上の射程を持った表現になり得ます。「IAMAS 2021」に来場して、本展を経験することの意味をいま一度「創造/想像」していただけたら幸いです。

Recently, various museums and galleries are offering “online exhibitions”. The rise of these online contents has raised the question of about where the essence of experiencing artworks lies. The “Archival Archetyping Exhibition in IAMAS 2021” attempts to recombine physical space and information space in a multilayered manner through ‘artworks’, ‘exhibitions’, and ‘communication through exhibitions’. It is now, at this point of time that we can consider the relationship between an exhibition and the artwork in parallel. Thus, expanding the meaning of the artwork beyond the artwork itself. We hope that visitors to “IAMAS 2021” will take a moment to rethink the meaning of experiencing this exhibition.
